Delete your HiveTracks Bio account and data
This page explains how to request deletion of your HiveTracks Bio account and the data associated with it.
Delete from inside the app
1. Open HiveTracks Bio and sign in.
2. Go to the account screen.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately. You do not need to contact us.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in, email support@hivetracks.com from the address associated with your account and ask for your account to be deleted. We will verify the request and action it.
What is deleted
What is kept, and why
Observations you have already submitted are retained as anonymous records, no longer linked to you or to your account.
This is deliberate rather than incidental. Ecological survey data is a time series: an organization's monitoring baseline depends on records collected at the same points across seasons, and removing individual records retrospectively would corrupt measurements other people rely on. Anonymised records cannot be traced back to you.
If you need submitted records removed rather than anonymised, email support@hivetracks.com and explain the circumstances, and we will deal with it case by case.
Retention
Anonymised observation records are retained indefinitely as part of the ecological dataset. Account data is removed at the point of deletion and is not retained in backups beyond our normal backup rotation.
